Identity-First Philosophy
The traditional approach to habits is broken. You don’t start with what you do,you start with who you are.
Layer 1
Define your identity
‘I am a runner.’ ‘I am a reader.’ ‘I am someone who shows up.’ Identity is the innermost layer, the anchor that gives meaning to everything else. When you know who you are, decisions become automatic.
Layer 2
Map your outcomes
Each identity connects to meaningful outcomes. ‘I am a runner’ leads to ‘Run a 10K’,not the other way around. Outcomes are the bridge between who you are and what you do daily.
Layer 3
Stack atomic habits
The smallest habits, stacked daily, create compound evidence of your identity. Two minutes is all it takes to start. Consistency over intensity, always.
“The goal is not to read a book, the goal is to become a reader.”
